Leider muss ich einen Stern geben weniger geht nicht. Die Zimmer sind sehr altertümlich eingerichtet so wie das ganze Objekt. Das wäre nicht das Problem gewesen aber der Dreck, Spinnweben überall Fugen im Bad verschimmelt Haare vom letzten Gast.Das Frühstück war ein Scherz. Ich kann nur sagen nicht empfehlenswert.

Sehr freundlich aber bestimmt... Zimmerausstattung sehr alt...Matratzen durchgelegen, unbequem...dafür zu teuer... aaaber, sehr gutes Frühstück​...

Die Zimmer sind durch und durch dreckig. Es fängt am Lichtschalter an, geht über den verdreckten Boden zu dem staubigen Tisch bis an das Nachttischchen, neben welchem sich die Spinnweben wohl fühlen und endet an den Fenstern, welche ebenfalls dreckig sind.||Das Frühstück war komplett ungekühlt, weshalb wir gerne auf die leicht gräuliche Wurst verzichteten. Teekanne war im Stil der Zimmer, ebenso wie die Einrichtung des "Esszimmers" - neben zig Büchern, jeder Menge Staub, alten Boxen und abgestellten Druckern, Kartons etc. ||Der Betreiber schien wohl recht bemüht, jedoch möchte ich nur ungern n

I have stayed here on a couple of occasions, and am looking forward to my next trip in January. Ralf is a great host, and very knowledgeable about Colditz, and the castle. He has some great stories. The hotel is great, beds are comfortable and the breakfasts set you up for the day. Colditz itself is a beautiful town and is stuck in another decade as others have noted, which I feel is the beauty of the place. Alte Stadtmauer fits in perfectly with this way of life. I am sure that anyone who stays here will thoroughly enjoy there stay. ||||Keep up the great work Ralf.

Reading others reviews we were a little apprehensive about staying; we did not want to drive on after our Colditz castle visit, and the YHA was full, ( the only other accommodation in town) but we were pleasantly surprized to find a basic, but perfectly adequate B&B in Ralf's home. It was quiet, had parking and the rooms had plenty of hot water, were bright and cheerfully decorated and Ralf provided a decent breakfast. We were not paying 5* prices so we did not expect a 5* B&B. I actually stayed in May 2015, and just discovered the review I wrote somehow didn't get posted. Anyway, it was a perfect location to visit the castle (I recommend the extended tour), Ralf was extremely helpful and able to answer all my intricate questions based on a boyhood of reading books about Colditz. The breakfast was absolutely fine and my room was clean (if you are expecting a 5 star hotel, stay in Leipzig, an hour away!), and I would stay there again. I also recommend a walk in the woods behind the town - climb up so you can look down on the castle, it's eerie and mysterious.
